A PLANETARY ABOLITION – April 30 – May 28.

Adult Sunday Morning Study at 9:15am.

In today’s so-called “age of enlightenment” we need a determined discernment to defy deception. Social media and educational philosophy herd our young people into universal acceptance of lies. The “enemy who prowls around looking for someone to devour” has proposed that we are doomed to destroy ourselves by not concentrating on saving our own planet. Animals and apes (and maybe even robots) become more valuable than babies. Meanwhile, he tears at the fabric of morality by undermining authority, family, gender and true compassion.

Instead of God we get “Gaia.” Instead of community we get selfishness. Instead of supportive family we get fracture. These propositions are, in fact, deceptions powerful enough to ruin our relationships, our lives, even our eternities— if we let them. However, God has granted us the truth and the saving grace of his Word to sustain and rule this planet, and perhaps more significantly, ourselves. Child care will be provided for ages 0-3. Sunday School is available for all other ages.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY – 1 Samuel

A Bible study on Tuesday evenings meets from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the classroom which is located near the copier room in the lower level school hallway. Come join us as we look at the kings of Israel and discover the lessons we are to learn from their life stories. A participant says, “I realized how much value there is in sharing with the class and applying what we learned from one another.” Bring your point of view because you will be able to give it during our discussions.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH TOOL

From your Spiritual Growth Committee: Watch your church mailboxes on Confirmation weekend for the special resource entitled: SPIRITUAL GROWTH PLAN. It can be used by individuals and families to prayerfully and privately consider specific ways to grow in our connection with our gracious God. The plan’s purpose is simple, yet most important, to help us focus on the most important things in life, especially on our relationship with Jesus!

SENIOR ADULT BIBLE STUDY – Book of Galatians.

In our study of the book of Galatians, we will see that the hope of our salvation lies in the pure gospel alone and not the law, that the gospel frees us from the demands of the law, and that the gospel provides the motivation to live lives of service to God and others. The class is taught by Staff Minister Hering in the Church Office Classroom on Tuesdays at 10:30 am, and will meet through the winter and into the spring.

MEN’S SOFTBALL LEAGUE
