SENIOR ADULT BIBLE STUDY – Book of 1 Peter
The people to whom Peter wrote this letter were experiencing hardship and suffering due to their Christian faith. They needed encouragement, even as we do today. The epistle of 1 Peter reminds us of the hope we have through Christ, not only for this life, but for the life to come. The class will be taught by Staff Minister Hering in the Church Office Classroom on Tuesdays at 10:30 am, beginning September 19th and continuing through November 21st.
ADULT BIBLE STUDY – 2 Samuel
A Bible study on Tuesday evenings will begin on September 12 (day after Labor Day) at 7:00 pm in the classroom which is located near the copier room in the lower level school hallway. We will meet from 7:00 – 8:30 each Tuesday evening. Bring your point of view because you will be able to give it during our discussions.
Sunday School Visitation Day
Our Sunday School begins again on Sept. 10. All Sunday School parents are invited to greet their child’s teacher during the last portion of our first Sunday School day by stopping at the classroom at 10 o’clock. This will also give you a few moments to complete some brief paper work and meet other parents. We hope all our Sunday School parents can make it.
Our Savior Golf Outing and Fellowship
Join us for a day of fellowship, fun, and fundraising for our school on Saturday, September 23rd. The festivities begin at Hawthorne Hills Golf Course with a shotgun start at 1:00pm. We will, then, transition to the American Legion in Grafton for fellowship, silent auction, and a catered dinner by the Prime Minister. There is a signup sheet in the church narthex. Email Kristin Clasen at [email protected] if you have any questions about signing up. Please note that this event is about fun, so you don’t have to be a great golfer. The majority of the people golfing are at the novice level (and that is being gracious ????). If you aren’t a golfer, join us for dinner and fellowship at the Legion.
SILENT Auction DONATIONS Needed
We are in need of donations for the silent auction. If you have something you would like to donate please contact Rachel Luehring at [email protected].
Camp Phillip Women’s Retreat – October 6-8
Adult women of any age can “get away” on this special weekend planned just for them. Saturday afternoon options may include high ropes course, low ropes course, woodworking, cake decorating, basket-making or shopping in Wautoma. The retreat includes relevant Bible studies, praise time and campfires. Best of all, you will make lasting friendships with other women of your same faith. Our Savior is a Camp Phillip Congregational Member. As such, members of Our Savior receive the discounted price of $81 for the retreat, which covers the cost of food, lodging, and programming.
To register, visit www.campphillip.com and print off the appropriate registration form (found under “Registration forms” on the Document downloads page) and mail or fax it to Camp Phillip, or locate and submit the online registration form under the “2017 Camp Events and Registration” page. A small group of women from Our Savior are already planning on attending. They’d love for you to join them. Please contact Katie Koffman (920-299-2307 or [email protected]) if you’d like more information.
