Everyone is invited! Bring friends and family! There will be scrambled eggs with ham, sausages, cheesy potatoes, cheese and sausage, fruit, pastries and muffins! Of course juice and coffee too! Easter Breakfast is served in the lower lobby with seating in the gymnasium between the 2 services on Easter Sunday 8:00-9:15am. We hope to see you there!

Walk with Jesus – His Last Week on Earth – February 19 to April 9

Adult Sunday Morning Study at 9:15am. During Lent this year we will reconstruct the final days of our Lord among us. Eight Gospel studies will enable us to relive with him each day, from the triumphal entry to the empty tomb. En route, we’ll witness the last meal with his disciples, his trial, his suffering and crucifixion, and his resurrection. The Gospel narratives are brisk through his three year ministry but all four eye witnesses “slowed the camera down” during Holy Week to show how intentional his passion was. He knew he was going to be persecuted – smitten, stricken and afflicted – yet he walked the path to cross with confident faith and consummate love. This chronology of his last week on earth will remind us why “believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)

THINKING AHEAD FOR LENT – By Pretense (Matthew 26:14-16)

How can you betray God? Won’t he know what’s in your heart and what that you’re trying to pull the wool over his eyes? Of course! Jesus knew that Judas was hiding his desires, disguising his love of money, secretly manipulating circumstances for his own goals. Our masks become glued to our soul, when we start to believe our own lies. We too betray God when we harden to the law and think our way is better than his. He still reaches out to redeem us. He still calls us “friend.”

Campus Work Day – Saturday, April 29 beginning at 8:30 am

Church campus cleanup day – all are invited. Join us for an hour or 2 or 3. There will be a variety of tasks. Most tools and supplies will be on site; but feel free to bring your favorite weeding, raking or yard tool! Or if you prefer cleaning windows, bring your favorite window rags. Hope to see you then.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY – 1 Samuel

A Bible study on Tuesday evenings meets from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the classroom which is located near the copier room in the lower level school hallway. Come join us as we look at the kings of Israel and discover the lessons we are to learn from their life stories. A participant says, “I realized how much value there is in sharing with the class and applying what we learned from one another.” Bring your point of view because you will be able to give it during our discussions. Please note that there is no bible study on April 11th.

SENIOR ADULT BIBLE STUDY – Book of Galatians

In our study of the book of Galatians, we will see that the hope of our salvation lies in the pure gospel alone and not the law, that the gospel frees us from the demands of the law, and that the gospel provides the motivation to live lives of service to God and others. The class is taught by Staff Minister Hering in the Church Office Classroom on Tuesdays at 10:30 am, and will meet through the winter and into the spring. Please note that there is no bible study on April 11th and 18th.

This is a production performed by all the students of Our Savior Lutheran School in 3K – Gr. 8. It will be on Friday April 28th and Saturday April 29th at 6:30pm. Be sure to save the date!

Open gyms will be on Sundays, 4/9, 4/23, 5/7 and 5/21 from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Contact the church office with any questions you have. Hope to see you there!

Hearts-to-Hands

We’ve gathered faithfully for three years now. In that time we’ve crocheted prayer shawls, pocket prayer shawls, baby blankets, scarves, and more. We’ve knitted dozens of baby hats for newborns. We’ve embroidered, needle pointed and quilted. We’ve learned, we’ve taught and we’ve shared. Join us every 2nd and 4th Monday at 6:30pm in the mezzanine of the school building. Next gathering is Monday, 4/10. All are welcome from those wanting to learn to those willing to share. Contact Laurel Polheber with questions, 262-483-2012.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4th at 8:30 am around the flagpole (weather permitting, otherwise in church). If you have a prayer request, please contact the church or school office by Tuesday, May 2nd. Everyone is welcome to join Our Savior School children and staff for this time of prayer and presentation.
