THINKING AHEAD FOR LENT – By Temptation (Matthew 4:1-11)
He chose to be made like us in all things. It is of utmost importance to note that, although Jesus was in fact, born into this world in a body just like ours (that knew fear, anxiety, sadness and joy) yet he was still perfect, without sin. The Holy Spirit reveals in the Word that Jesus had to be born in a human body to be tempted as we are. The Word is clear, giving us hope that we will be fully delivered from our shame, our pain, our wounds – delivered out of temptation just as we have been freed from the consequence of sin by our association with him.
WOMENS BIBLE STUDY
Ladies please join us for a 5 week women’s bible study called “Our Bible Sisters”. This series looks at a different woman of the Bible in each lesson, highlighting God’s faithfulness in her life, with applications to the lives of all Christian women today. We will meet in the church office class room, Sunday evenings at 7:00pm. The study will start on March 5th and run through April 2nd. ADULT BIBLE STUDY – 1 Samuel
A Bible study on Tuesday evenings now meets at 7:00 pm in the classroom which is located near the copier room in the lower level school hallway. Come join us as we look at the kings of Israel and discover the lessons we are to learn from their life stories. A participant says, “I realized how much value there is in sharing with the class and applying what we learned from one another.” We meet from 7:00 – 8:30 each Tuesday evening. Bring your point of view because you will be able to give it during our discussions.
SENIOR ADULT BIBLE STUDY – Book of Galatians
In our study of the book of Galatians, we will see that the hope of our salvation lies in the pure gospel alone and not the law, that the gospel frees us from the demands of the law, and that the gospel provides the motivation to live lives of service to God and others. The class will be taught by Staff Minister Hering in the Church Office Classroom on Tuesdays at 10:30 am, and will meet through the winter and into the spring.
Our Savior School PTF meeting
All parents, grandparents, teachers, and friends of Our Savior are invited to the PTF meeting Come and learn about the PTF, discuss what things are coming up, offer any new ideas, and meet everyone. The meeting will be held on Monday, February 27th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the fellowship hall. Childcare is available!
EASTER FLOWERS
Please check the table in back of church for the yellow order form for Easter Flowers. Please place the order form and your payment in the church office mail slot. The cost is $14.00 per plant. Deadline to order is Sunday, April 2nd. Plants can be picked up after the second service on Easter Sunday.
FORWARD IN CHRIST SUBSCRIPTIONS
It is time again for renewals and new subscriptions to “Forward In Christ,” the synod’s monthly news magazine. If you are a current subscriber please indicate whether you wish to renew or cancel on the renewal form located on the sign up table in the back of church. If you are a new subscriber please fill out the necessary information on the form for new subscribers. The cost this year is $13.49 for new or renewal subscriptions. Please make your checks payable to Our Savior Lutheran Church, insert in designated envelope and place in the church office mail slot. The deadline is March 5th.

Kettle Moraine Lutheran Traveling Choir
The Kettle Moraine Lutheran Traveling Choir will be joining us for services on Sunday, March 5, 2017. We will serve the students breakfast between the services. They arrive at church by 6:45 a.m. and do rehearsal before the 8:00 a.m. service. We are asking our members for help by donating food, paper products and their time.
EASTER BREAKFAST SIGN-UP
There is a sign-up sheet in the back of church for those who wish to contribute food items to our annual Easter Breakfast. The Breakfast is held between the Worship Services on Easter Sunday. Please bring your food donations on Saturday, April 15th between 9-10 am or before Easter Sonrise Service. Also included on the sign-up is a request for help to set up on Saturday at 9:00 am and clean up after the breakfast on Sunday. Any help you can offer will be much appreciated.
