“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”  Matthew 28:6

We pray for the whole Christian church on earth as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior on Easter Day.  Praise our resurrected Lord for defeating sin and death and Satan on our behalf.  Thank God for the “new lease on life” that is our because Jesus rose from the grave.  Ask that we experience the full joy of the Easter gospel not just today, but every day!

  • Dear Lord, In Your wisdom you called home to heaven last Sunday on Easter, Doug Schnell’s father, Royal. Comfort Doug and Sue and all his loved ones with the joyous truth of the resurrection and the confidence that they will one day be gloriously reunited.
  • Lord, draw Adam and Sharon Gerbert and their family close to you as Adam’s sister-in-law Janice passed away after a battle with cancer. Strengthen Janice’s husband, Joe, along with all of her family & loved ones in their faith in Jesus as their Savior. Comfort them with your love.
  • As the Wichman family remembers Jeff, who would have celebrated his birthday this week, remind them of your Easter promises that give them confidence of their reunion with him one day in heaven. Give Jeff’s family true peace knowing and relying on Jesus’ words, “Because I live, you also will live.”
  • Lord God, protect Ellie Lembcke as she undergoes hip replacement surgery this week Tuesday. Guide the surgeon’s hands that the procedure goes well. Bless Ellie in her recovery and grant her great patience during the healing process.
  • We rejoice and give thanks, along with the entire Reel family as Ron and Sue’s son, Brandon, and his wife, Sarah, welcomed into their family their new son, Logan James, this past week. We are grateful that both mother and son are doing well and ask, dear Lord, that you keep young Logan in your tender care and grace. Gladden their home and life with this new son.
  • Lord, we praise you as Armand and Ruth Goeden celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary. Continue to be their source of strength and hold them secure in your caring hands. Guard and protect them, both body and soul. Give them joy as they recount your blessings through these years and peace as they live each day secure in your love and promises.
  • We ask the Holy Spirit to direct Tom Kock on his consideration of a similar call to be Pulpit assistant down at Atonement in Milwaukee. Lord, he is your servant.  Use his gifts to broadcast the Gospel effectively, whether here or there – and certainly with more impact at the Seminary where he teaches.  We trust that you will continue to bless our congregation with dedicated and faithful preachers.
  • Our prayers of concern for Lance Backhaus, Jeremiah’s father, who is in ICU at the hospital with a brain bleed, have been answered. He is making good progress, and join the family in thanking you for sparing him.  No one knows the extent of the injury yet, so we entrust him to your loving care and continue to pray for his full recovery.
  • We pray for the family and friends of Jan Kraft, Ed’s mother, who was taken home to heaven…. We pray that her husband, Stan and their entire family find comfort in God’s wonderful promise of forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus.
  • We rejoice with Pastor Aaron & Laura Bublitz, for good news after her recent cancer surgery. The doctor is quite confident that they were successful and that the cancer has not spread.  You have been their Great Physician in every way; preserve their family through your grace.
  • We seek your protection and healing for Paul Karnopp’s mother, Karen, who had hip replacement. Give her patience and faith as she goes through rehab and recovery.
  • For Ron Telega as he is transferred to the VA Assisted Living Center in King County.
  • Alyssa Pautz’s Grandmother went through open heart surgery, at an advanced age. Lord, give her patience and faith as she goes through rehab and recovery and strengthen her, body and soul, for this attempt to lengthen her life.

Immanuel Hmong, St. Paul, Minn. – Holy Spirit, we thank you for the work Pastor Pheng Moua and his wife have done to share the gospel with the Hmong population in the Twin Cities and around the world. We especially ask that you would bless the work he does with their youth group. Many young men and women gather to hear about Jesus. Bless their studies and works of service. Help raise up a new generation that loves your Word and the good news of salvation! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
