The Word Endures – Lessons from Luther Yesterday and Today. September 10th – November 5th
Adult Sunday Morning Study at 9:15am. Master teachers are a rare find. Their teachings transcend centuries and impact learners well after them. Martin Luther was a teacher from whom we can still learn lessons about prayer, marriage and freedom. In 1530 the Reformation of the Christian church was in full swing. Martin Luther’s popularity had pushed his writings to the top of the best-seller list. What if you had a chance to hear him speak? What if you could sit at the feet of this scholar of Scripture who taught crowds of not just princes but also peasants? You can… in this study. Join us at the feet of Luther! Child care will be provided for ages 0-3. Sunday School is available for all other ages.
Attention Parents!
A 9-week parenting Bible class entitled “Christian Parenting – A Labor of Love” will be taught by Tom Hering and begin on Sunday, September 10. This series is for all parents. On the basis of God’s great love for parents and children, we will explore many ways in which parents show love for their children. The class will meet in the classroom off the fellowship hall during the regular Sunday morning Bible class hour. Child care is provided.
Mom’s Circle
Moms (and Dads) are invited to attend our Mom’s Circle group for a time of kids’ play and parents visiting! The group meets at Our Savior in our music room, which is located on the lower level hallway between the church fellowship hall and family life center lower lobby. (This is the same room where our PreK Sunday School meets.) The first gathering will be this Thursday morning, September 7, from 8:15 to 11:00 am. Mom’s Circle will continue to meet the first Thursday of the month (October 5, November 2, December 7).
Sunday Morning Nursery Helpers Needed
During our Sunday morning Bible class and Sunday School hour, we like to provide nursery care for children too young to start Sunday School (ages birth – 2 years). We need adult nursery helpers. Nursery care is provided from 9:15 to 10:15 in the library, which adjoins the fellowship hall. Ideally, we set up a rotation where workers serve one weekend per month. If you would like to help, please contact either the church office (262.377.6363) or Linda Hering (414.491.3516) as soon as possible, as classes begin September 10.
SILENT Auction DONATIONS Needed
We are in need of donations for the silent auction. If you have something you would like to donate please contact Rachel Luehring at [email protected].
THANK YOU
…to the many people who helped with this year’s picnic! Your assistance with setting up, providing food, preparing food, helping with games, serving food and ice cream, tearing down and cleaning up was truly appreciated. And it was great to have so many together to enjoy the food, games, fellowship and fun, even with weather that was changing and challenging!
