    Winter Adult Bible Study

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

    Romans 8:5

Can we as Christians seek happiness through self-control? So many self-help books proclaim a perfect method, discovered by the author, that really works. But first, is it truly biblical? And second, does it balance Law & Gospel? Obedience and service to others begins in the Word of God. There are some misbeliefs about self-control that need to be dismantled. Then, “old habits” can be reformed into healthy , new habits. We’ll examine the…

    purpose, preparation, plan, and perseverance

for self-control offered by the inspired writers under God’s direction.

SENIOR ADULT BIBLE STUDY Gospel of John

In our study of John’s gospel, we will take a journey through the life of Jesus. John offers perhaps the clearest reason why the Holy Spirit has given us these inspired writings: “…these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).  We’ll apply our Savior’s teachings to our own lives throughout the study. The class will be taught by Staff Minister Hering in the Church Office Classroom on Tuesdays at 10:30 am, beginning January 8th and continuing through March 19th.

Can Recycling Project – We are collecting aluminum cans. They can be placed in the containers located in the fenced enclosure at the NE corner of the gym.

    JOSEPH, CARPENTER OF STEEL

Adult Sunday Morning Study at 9:15am, December  9, 16 & 30.  Childcare provided. What stands out most about Joseph is how common and ordinary he was. You might say he was just an “average Joe,” like most of us. Who expects his or her name to be written in history books, or to have buildings, streets or cities named after them? Joseph never dreamed what God was up to in his time and in his life, until the angel spoke to him about amazing things.  When he discovered his betrothed was pregnant, everything changed and instead of ending in disharmony and divorce, he found this child to be the source of his greatest joy.
