A special Voters’ meeting will be held on Sunday, February 2nd to present for adoption the revised Constitution and Bylaws and to deal with any matters attendant to its passage.
Now through February 9. We human beings are spiritually “near-sighted” by birth. Even when we ask this question, “Why am I here?” we think of it as a personal, local concept. And yet, God has provided some beautiful answers in Scripture about who we are (children of God) and what we can do (the commission of making disciples). When we look to ourselves or our circumstances to provide meaning and context for our life we may miss out on the greatest motivator there is – his unfailing love. He has lavished his love on us and by re-creating the image of God through the perfect model (Jesus) we encounter a whole new level of understanding. Our study is taught by our Pastoral Team in the Fellowship Hall. Child care is available. (more…)

Our Savior Lutheran School could use additional hot lunch helpers. Hot lunch is served on Wednesdays and Fridays. Volunteer servers are needed between 11:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on those days. Volunteers are also welcome to shop, prepare veggies and fruit, or make desserts. Please contact the school office if you are interested.
The Board of Stewardship is pleased to invite all members and friends of Our Savior to our special annual fellowship and activity night on Friday, February 28, beginning at 6 pm. The primary emphasis is FELLOWSHIP. Basketball, volleyball and the “bounce house” will be available in the gym while ping pong and tables for games will also be played in the lower lobby (byog – bring your own game). Snacks and beverages will be provided. There is no cost to attend. Come one, come all… and enjoy the fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ!
We are collecting aluminum cans. They can be placed in the containers located in the fenced enclosure at the NE corner of the gym.

A special Voters’ meeting will be held on Sunday, January 19 to present for adoption the revised Constitution and Bylaws and to deal with any matters attendant to its passage. You can find the proposed constitution on the members only section of the church website under Constitution.
Stewardship is the expression of our desire as Christians to contribute to the mission and ministry of the church. As we grow spiritually, we understand that serving and giving are important parts of our Christian life. God calls us to give of ourselves through our time, talents, and treasures. Through the sharing of our resources with others, we are showing our support and love for them and giving glory to God. “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10).
Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for serving me by saving me from my sins. Lead me to give you glory in 2020 by giving of myself to help others. In Your name I pray. Amen.
Have you been reading your Bible on a daily basis? If so, keep it up. Undoubtedly, you’re being blessed. If you haven’t been involved in daily Bible reading, consider starting now, or as the new year begins! A Bible reading plan is easy to set up and follow. It’s simple to subscribe and receive daily Bible readings by email. Go to www.wels.net and follow the links (“Serving You” – “Through My Bible” – “Get It Delivered”.) You can also find these readings listed on the “Feedback Page” of our synod’s monthly magazine, Forward in Christ.” Read online, via delivered email, audio, or paper. Be blessed as you read and reread treasures from God’s inspired Word!
More people are needed to fulfill the volunteer spots so that we are able to operate our home basketball games in January.

“We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:2b
The story of the Nativity is filled with pictures. In your mind’s eye, see the heavenly host filling Bethlehem’s sky. Watch shepherds running to find the Babe in the manger. Imagine the Magi, richly-robed scholars, traveling far to worship the King. Our mental pictures help us remember what happened long ago and also teach us important truths today. The angels set the stage by being the first to honor the newborn King. They announced the Good News of the Savior’s birth to common Jews, and the star announced it to noble Gentiles, reminding us that God calls all.
He turns away no one because of status, achievement, intellect, wealth, or race. Picture this: Christ was born for all! As we listen to the Christmas story, picture everything that happened. The angels. The manger. The shepherds. The wise men. Picture it all, and come and worship Him!
Philippines – Holy Spirit, you are blessing the proclamation of law and gospel in the Philippines so that, in less than two years, we are training local men to be pastors. Encourage and equip Pastor Alvien De Guzman as he teaches two men enrolled in seminary training. Thank you for the technology that permits us to offer other classes to these candidates for ministry. Give students and teachers alike the boldness needed so that all may confess your name clearly to lost souls to grow your kingdom. Amen.

An Our Savior Lutheran Church & School undecorating/cleaning/work day has been scheduled for Saturday, January 11th starting at 9:00am. We are looking for help from both church and school families. Please consider joining us!
The 2020 offering envelopes are in the back of church. Please be sure to pick yours up.
