Winter Adult Bible Study

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

Romans 8:5

Can we as Christians seek happiness through self-control? So many self-help books proclaim a perfect method, discovered by the author, that really works. But first, is it truly biblical? And second, does it balance Law & Gospel? Obedience and service to others begins in the Word of God. There are some misbeliefs about self-control that need to be dismantled. Then, “old habits” can be reformed into healthy , new habits. We’ll examine the…

purpose, preparation, plan, and perseverance

for self-control offered by the inspired writers under God’s direction.

Beginning of the End: Fall Adult Bible Study

What

Almost every day people comment about how troubled they are about trends in our country: increased violence, immorality and selfishness.
For the first time in a decade, we’re back into the book of Revelation to hear what the Spirit shared with the Apostle John. We’ll watch the Lamb open the seals of judgment and call the trumpets to sound forth. We’ll also see how the Lion of Judah (Jesus) is woven into every theme and every victory described in Revelation 6-9. This study will be taught by our Pastoral Team in the Sanctuary.  Child care is available.

Advice from a Mission Counselor – Spring Sunday Bible Study

Anyone who goes to church expecting to meet a group of perfect, loving people is in for a surprise. Paul knew any Christian, especially a young pastor like Timothy, could be bitterly disappointed, frustrated and burned out from the pettiness, selfishness and sinfulness of the people in his church. So he reminded his young friend — and us — of the enormous transition God worked in his own life, taking him from being a murderer of Christians, to a powerful apostle and missionary.

Here’s solid counsel from the man chosen and instructed by Jesus himself to be a missionary.

Child care will be provided for ages 0-3. Sunday School is available for all other ages.

What

Sorrow can flood into our life at any given moment.  It comes from loss – of life, of dreams, of control, of relationship.

Lent is the public way that we Christians deal with sorrow and grief, because it draws us into the suffering of our savior.  He bound himself to us, unto death.  He knows our weakness as human, and yet he has provided a solution.

Among the most emotive writers in Scripture, King David produced thousands of songs, many of which are recorded in Scripture as Psalms.  During this time of sorrow as we watch Jesus walk the road of our suffering, his penitential Psalms can talk to us and teach us how faith sees the journey to the cross.

Child care will be provided for ages 0-3.  Sunday School is available for all other ages.

Timely Topics, Timeless Truths: Winter Adult Bible Class

Does it seem like you’re swimming upstream against the rushing river of society’s thinking? You believe one thing, but so many around you at your work, school, and in your neighborhood, and so many influential people that you hear or read about, believe something foreign to your faith. How are you going to speak intelligently, and yet faithfully and lovingly hold to God’s Word, on matters that everyone is talking about today?

Our new study, Timely Topics, Timeless Truths, brings today’s challenging issues out into the open where we can become educated on the topics, see guidance from God’s Word, and become prepared to speak the truth in a spirit of Christian love.

The WORD Endures: Fall Adult Bible Class

Master teachers are a rare find.  Their teachings transcend centuries and impact learners well after them.  Martin Luther was a teacher from whom we can still learn lessons about prayer, marriage and freedom.  In 1530 the Reformation of the Christian church was in full swing. Martin Luther’s popularity had pushed his writings to the top of the best-seller list. What if you had a chance to hear him speak? What if you could sit at the feet of this scholar of Scripture who taught crowds of not just princes but also peasants? You can… in this study. Join us at the feet of Luther!
