What We Witnessed – Midweek Advent Series 2017

This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about.  Matthew 1:18

This Advent season, see the events of Christmas unfold through the eyes of those who were there.  They tell the story in narrative, “the way it happened.”  This first person sermon series will give us an opportunity to meet and listen to the eye witnesses who were closely associated with the events that surrounded our Savior’s birth.  Most importantly, we’ll hear how the truth of Christ’s birth impacted and changed their hearts and lives.

December 7 – Isaiah: An Old Time Evangelist
December 14 – Mary: The Lord’s Humble Servant
December 21 – Joseph: The Silent Saint

Men of His Word Conference 2018

What

All men of the congregation are invited to attend the 9th Annual Men of His Word Conference.   If you are interested in a carpool you can find a sign up in the narthex after December 10th.

In Matthew 4 Jesus called his first disciples to get out of the boat. They obeyed leaving behind all they knew not really knowing where it would lead them. In Matthew 14 Jesus again calls Peter to get out of the boat. This time it wasn’t just wading to the shore but during a perilous storm. Peter put his faith in the one calling, and Jesus took him by the hand and protected him through the storm.

Each of us is called to be his disciple and to follow with that same kind of trust. Our Lord challenges us to get out of our proverbial boats—to leave the safety of our comfortable lives, to keep our eyes off the distractions and disruptions of the world and instead with focus and purpose walk to Jesus. He promises to be right there with us in the midst of the storms to guide us, protect us and hold us close. Join us as we are challenged and encouraged to take that step and trust God to show us his awesome power in our lives.
